Pain and acupuncture

Pain is a warning sign that something is amiss in your body. Your body is trying to communicate with you that something is out of balance. This pain could come from an injury, illness or unknown cause.

No one should have to live with pain for a long time. Medication can help dull the pain but it may not treat the root problem. There are also many medications with side effects.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, pain can be a result of:

  • poor diet
  • physical trauma
  • emotional trauma
  • chemical, physical or emotional stress

Acupuncture is a whole body approach to healing addressing the symptoms and root issue at hand. It is time-tested, safe, effective, natural and drug free. There are no side effects.

Fine sterile needles the thickness of a hair are inserted carefully into meridian points found across your body to promote healing. These needles are simply conductors of your energy or Qi (chee). They stimulate the body’s innate healing abilities & endorphins. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, Qi is the vital energy than animates the body and mind. Qi flows through pathways called meridians which provides nourishment to the body’s cells, tissues, muscles, organs and glands.

When there is an imbalance or an obstruction-block to this flow, illness occurs, and symptoms may appear. Please note that Acupuncture is one of the aspects and tools of Oriental Medicine that may effectively contribute to your healing. Ask about herbal, nutritional therapy, cupping and moxa.

Most clients experience little to no pain when receiving acupuncture and in fact many of them experience a deep sense of relief, and relaxation allowing you to let go and heal.
